3.75 million in China

and you say WoW has less bots then GW...
...It does. Gold farmers ≠ bots.

Dont be, my friend gave me his WoW subscription for free. Got sick of grinding studies for school finals, then grinding while playing a game with graphics similair to Looney Toons.

2! I know them both. They are quite nice fellows.
They don't talk much though.

Way to go.

Only 500000 more to go. It is also funny to see thousands of floating bots advertising gold selling, mainly in alliance cities.

Was this in WoW?
I had this happen in Everquest 2.
It turns out it was a GM and they thought I was botting.

It's easier to get mistaken for botting in EQ2.
You don't need to face enemies to land spells.
I'd often park myself in a large clearing of non-aggro mobs and use a macro to pull. Macro's are allowed in EQ2, but they have a character limit.
I'm surprised I wasn't mistaken for a bot more often considering how often I played alone like that.
lol, now I'm having nostalgic memories.
In PVP, I used to play an inquisitor. They were very hard to kill, but did piddly damage. In a fight if someone hit me, I'd actually turn around to look at them, turn back to face what I was fighting and cast spells on the person while my back was facing them. It was hilarious and so obnoxious of me.

Aaah yeah they got macros in WoW too, and sometimes they can get pretty abused (example: there's a warrior skill that can only be used out of combat. A guy created a macro for it that made it usuable in combat). But they fix them suprisingly fast. However, I think the laziest thing you can do with macros in WoW is have a casting order - meaning that when you press the button once, it'll cast fireball. Press it again, it cast frostbolt. Regarding a character limit, I'm not sure.(sidenote: all this EQ2 talk...would you recommend it? It does sound interesting).

...

So 4 million is awesome, yeah?!

Assuming Guild Wars has an active playerbase of...maybe 100,000 (and that's being generous), that's 1% bots, whereas in WoW, with its 9,000,000 player base, that's 0.11% bots.

Significantly different.
Why are you still playing the game or posting here? You talk nothing but crap about Anet & Co. Go to another thread with this bs, or make a rant about what is wrong with GW (with computer games really, cus all games got the same problems). And I think that WoW has been around for a lil bit longer than GW, and I think they have more of a percentage on gold botters, cus gold actually has use for progress in the game there, and I think WoW is a totally different game than GW and people should comparing the two. Also, they are baseless assumptions with nothing to stand on except for your "Die Anet!".

Anyways, gz Anet, and now gimme GW:EN

I found this, but I have no idea how Kotaku came up with those numbers for Guild Wars.
http://kotaku.com/gaming/list-it/top-10-mmos-269160.php

EQ2 isn't even on the list.
I always thought the active population was in the 100,000s, but I guess it's not even 500,000.

Zinger... to add onto Njaiguni... where in the hell do you have these numbers? You steal them from ANET or something to rant more in GWG? And honestly... I want to know why you hang around GWG so much to mock guild wars in EVERY thread that has WoW at least somewhat mentioned in it, or some GW conspiracy... Geez, I've seen you on Guild Wars spamming something like "give me indisputable proof that WoW > Gw and you get 100k".

Anyways... grats arenanet for 4 million. Can't wait till Gwen.

So, let's all guess what month they will announce the big 5.0...

I'm gonna say December.

Brain predicts around...Feb, for some reason. How long did it take for them to go from 3.5-4?

Quite a while, but there were no new releases during that time period. I'm thinking they'll sell somewhere around 300-400k copies of GW:EN on and around release weekend. Then there's the holidays. Add in the fact that if someone who doesn't already own GW, but wants to play GW:EN, they need to buy at least two copies (GWEN and one of the other chapters in order to play).

Too bad you can't play with the WHOLE 9 million players in WoW but you CAN play with anyone who plays GW.

EDIT: In before Zingers and Brayant's Flame

EDIT2: I don't know why people get so blissful about WoW's population because largely its irreverent since its based upon servers. If you play on a decent populated server, why care about the others since you won't ever play with them?
